Advanced Thin-Bed Mortar for Strong & Stable Block Masonry

Protector Block Jointing Mortar from RVM DRY MIX™ is a high-performance, polymer-modified thin-bed adhesive formulated for AAC blocks, CLC blocks, concrete blocks, fly ash bricks, porotherm blocks, and wire-cut clay bricks. Blended with OPC cement, graded fine aggregates, and advanced additives, it delivers excellent adhesion with uniform 3–4 mm joints that ensure cleaner, stronger, and crack-resistant masonry walls.

Designed for modern construction practices, it offers smooth workability, reduced material usage, and faster application compared to traditional sand–cement mortars. The innovative self-curing technology provides optimal hydration and bonding without additional water curing, saving valuable time and labor on site. Its thin-bed application improves wall alignment, surface finish, and overall masonry speed, making it ideal for residential, commercial, and high-rise projects.

A single 40 kg bag of Protector BJM covers approximately 1 CBM of AAC blocks at the recommended thickness, ensuring economical consumption with minimal wastage. Manufactured in ISO-certified, PLC-controlled facilities, each batch maintains premium quality, reliable bonding strength, and long-term durability — making Protector the trusted choice for precision masonry work.

Safety Directions

Usage Guidelines

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure AAC, CLC, or concrete block surfaces are clean, sound, and free from dust or loose particles.
  • Remove oil stains, curing compounds, and debris that may reduce bonding strength.
  • Lightly moisten overly dry block surfaces, but do not saturate them.

Mixing Instructions

  • Use clean potable water only.
  • Add approximately 21–24% water (8.5–9.5 L per 40 kg bag).
  • Add powder gradually into water and mix using a slow-speed drill mixer or manually until smooth and lump-free.
  • Rest the mixture for 2 minutes, then remix.
  • Use the mortar within 60–90 minutes, depending on temperature.
  • Do not add water once the mortar begins to stiffen.

Application Guidelines

  • Apply using a notched trowel to maintain a uniform 3–4 mm thin-bed layer.
  • Spread mortar fully over the block surface ensuring complete bedding.
  • Place the block and tap gently with a rubber mallet for alignment.
  • Use spirit level and plumb line to maintain straightness.
  • Ensure joints are fully filled to prevent hollow gaps.

Frequently asked questions

Protector BJM is a polymer-modified thin-bed mortar designed to deliver stronger bonding, faster application, and reduced material usage. It requires only 3–4 mm joints, offers zero shrinkage, and provides a clean, uniform finish—features not achievable with conventional sand–cement mortar.

Yes. Protector BJM is suitable for AAC blocks, CLC blocks, concrete blocks, fly ash bricks, porotherm blocks, and wire-cut clay bricks. Its high bonding strength makes it ideal for both structural and partition wall construction.

Mix one 40 kg bag with 21–24% clean water, which equals 8.5–9.5 litres. Add the powder slowly to avoid lumps and blend until a smooth, creamy mortar is achieved. Let it rest briefly and remix before applying.

A single 40 kg bag covers approximately 1 CBM of AAC blockwork when applied at the recommended 3–4 mm joint thickness. Actual results may vary depending on block size and workmanship.

No. The mortar contains a self-curing polymer system that retains internal moisture, ensuring proper hydration without external watering. This saves onsite labor and speeds up construction.

Workers should wear gloves, masks, and eye protection and avoid inhaling dust. Use only clean tools and water. Avoid re-mixing hardened mortar, and ensure the newly built wall remains undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
